  • How long do your soaps last?

A 4-4.5 oz bar of soap generally lasts approx. 30 days with daily use. A 5-5.5 oz bar will last approx. up to 45 days with single-person general daily use.

**Note: Want your bar to last as long as possible, keep bars dry in between uses.

  • Do you sell anywhere else besides online?
Yes, we book vendor events throughout the year and a list of events can be found on our Facebook page here.

  • Do you use (natural) essential oils or (synthetic) fragrance oils?

We use both. In our Collections, you'll find that our "Natural Essentials" and "Goat's Milk" soaps are only created with high-quality cosmetic-grade essential oils; while our Monthly Soap Releases are typically made with phthalate*-free synthetic fragrances. Some scents such as vanilla, coconut, berry, chocolate, and some florals cannot be created as an essential oil.

*Phthalates are mainly added to plastics to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability, and longevity. They are also known for disrupting your endocrine/reproductive system.

  • Are your soaps vegan?

We only use vegetable-based oils and butters. We do not use tallow, lard, or any other rendering of animal fats in our soaps. While some soaps are not vegan, due to the use of goat's milk, they are NOT gluten-free as manufacturing/testing practices and guidelines are too strenuous for my single-person operation. Soaps may contain tree nut oils such as almond oil, as well as coconut oil or coconut milk, and/or avocado oil, wheat germ oil, rice bran oil, and in some instances vitamin E oil. Ingredients are listed with each soap on our Products page. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions about the quality or amounts used in the making of our soaps.

  • Why do you use Sodium Hydroxide/Lye?
We use the cold process method. True Soap cannot be made without the use of sodium hydroxide/lye (NaOH). Lye "consumes" and binds to the oil molecules and the resulting transformation produces saponified oils (soap) and glycerine (a natural by-product) of the process. This process is called “Saponification".
  • Do you use any other types of "chemicals" in your soaps?

Sometimes we use soap-and-skin-friendly chemicals, such as Sodium Lactate (which is essentially a liquid salt, and acts as a hardening agent to help with the unmolding process when using silicone molds). We also may from time to time test a recipe using other synthetic ingredients, such as Potassium Cocoate, Optiphen, or Polysorbate 80. These act as sudsy-agents, preservatives or emulsifiers. We try to do our best to list the reasons why these ingredients are used in particular recipes and/or products. If you find a listing on our website that doesn't explain what/why the ingredient was used, please feel free to email us a informative request here.

  • When will I receive my order?
Please allow 1-2 business days for order processing. If an order is placed before Noon, we can usually fulfill the order and ship the same day. Orders placed after Noon, will be processed and shipped the next business day. Transit times will be dependent on USPS.

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged, because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, we cannot accept returns/exchanges for:
    -Custom or personalized orders
    -Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
    -Items on sale

Conditions of return/exchange:
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Incomplete/Inaccurate Addresses:

If a customer provides an incomplete or inaccurate address upon submission of an order, and the order is shipped, becomes undeliverable and then returned to Sacred Roots Co; packages returned due to customer providing an incorrect or incomplete address will be reshipped at the customer's expense. This applies to all orders, whether a customer originally paid for shipping or not.
